BREAST FEEDING PAINS
At the beginning, when a mother's milk comes in, it is in abundance
causing a lot of discomfort. However, that will be for only a
few days. The mother's body will start to adapt to how much milk
it needs to make for the baby's needs. Obviously wearing loose
clothing and no bras helps with the discomfort. However, I once
read that cupping your breasts with cabbage leaves to reduce the
swelling helps. I tried it and it did amazingly well.
Another painful problem associated with breastfeeding is sore
nipples. It is good to start focusing on them before birth by
massaging natural oils and lotions into them. Almond oil and Lanolin
are very good choices for doing so. Lanolin can be used after
the baby's birth because it doesn't make it difficult for a baby
to latch onto a nipple and it will not harm the baby either.
