JUICING
Fresh juice is a great source of bio-available (easily
absorbed) vitamins and minerals. These vitamins and minerals act
as important partners to the enzymes in our bodies. Vitamins activate
enzymes, allowing them to work, therefore allowing us to live.
Enzymes are catalysts in countless chemical reactions in our bodies.
These enzymes are absolutely essential for digesting, absorbing
and converting the food we eat into body tissue.
Enzymes produce energy at the cellular level and are critical
for most of the metabolic activities taking place in your body
every second of every day.
The other main benefit of drinking fresh juices is that your body
can absorb more of the vitamins and minerals then if you were
to eat the fruits and vegetables whole. Most of the nutrients
are trapped in the fiber and by blending fruits and vegetables,
you break down the fiber and release the vital nutrients which
would have otherwise been wasted.
For example, when you eat an apple, you are only able to assimilate
a small percentage of the available vitamins and minerals. When
an apple is juiced, removing the fiber, a large percentage of
the vitamins and minerals can be absorbed by your body. It is
also important to get your daily recommended allowance for fiber.
Vitamins and minerals are only required in very small amounts,
but a diet insufficient in these can cause severe deficiency related
diseases.
How to Juice Fruits and Vegetables:
* Buy a juicer / juice machine if you don't already have one
* Juice raw, organic
(if available) fruits and vegetables
* Drink immediately as the longer you wait, the less nutrional
value is in the juice
